Make it back a time. This is hell and talk about grief. There was a time and not that long ago that if a woman

went to see the doctor because they were not feeling well,

there was a really good chance the doctor almost always a man would diagnose diagnosis female patient as having hysteria, no matter what she had.

In fact, there were pandemics of hysteria at one time in the United States,

and again, not that long ago either.

Back in the day, if you were diagnosed with hysteria, you were told to get some rest, wait for

In other words, the diagnosis was questionable and there was no treatment for that very

questionable diagnosis. And that seemed to continue into the final decades of the 20th century,

believe it or not, when regulators like the CDC were scoffing at the

disorder and its effects on the public. Despite evidence showing something called

chronic fatigue syndrome was having a serious impact on public health

in the United States, even a worse health experience than those who were

experiencing AIDS according to one study. However, as the Mayo Clinic

posted, chronic fatigue is a real disorder and worse,

it's difficult to diagnose. And if it is is the cause for getting the disorder will remain

unknown all while it can last for several months and treatment is uncertain

with rest not helping and activity possibly making the symptoms even worse.

Symptoms include extreme exhaustion after physical or mental exercise, problems with memory or thinking skills,

dizziness that worsens with moving from lying down

or sitting to standing, muscle or joint pain
