• On Thursday, the House Oversight and Accountability Committee held its first impeachment inquiry hearing into President Joe Biden’s alleged improper role in his family’s overseas business deals. George Washington University Law professor Jonathan Turley testified that the current evidence would not support articles of impeachment against the president. However, he confirmed that the inquiry to collect more evidence is justifiable. • According to a new survey from the Golden Gate Restaurant Association, only 3% of San Francisco restaurants have not experienced vandalism or theft in the last month. • Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) has died at age 90—she won her seat in 1992 and was the oldest sitting member of the U.S. Senate at the time of her death. Earlier this year, Feinstein had been absent from the Senate for several months while recovering from shingles. In an interview conducted prior to Feinstein’s passing, Governor Gavin Newsome (D-CA) vowed to appoint a black woman to replace Feinstein in the event she resigned. • On Friday, Duane Keith Davis was taken into custody by police. He has been indicted on murder charges for his connection to the 1996 shooting death of rapper Tupac Shakur in Las Vegas, Nevada. The drive-by shooting occurred following an altercation at a Mike Tyson fight which took place at the MGM Grand Casino.
