Now approaching four decades later, he stands accused of murder.

Back then, no one could imagine L.A. Mike would end up like this.

Now charged with second degree murder murder facing life behind bars.

I'm joined by Naila Charles, reporter and multi-skilled journalist with 12 News in Phoenix, Arizona.

Naila, can I have you start by walking us through what happened on the morning of December 29th in Phoenix?

On that morning, police responded to a man who was shot he had a gunshot wound that man was

47 year old ronald like so this happened in kind of like a business like area in phoenix so

it happened somewhere outside on the intersection

in the early morning. Okay. And I'll admit that I'm not super familiar with the Phoenix area.

And my guess is that some of our listeners aren't either. But it looks like this was out

kind of by the airport almost in the suburb of Tempe.
