0:55.6	Jonathan and I were covering the funeral of Pope Francis together just a couple of weeks ago in Rome,
1:00.7	and then he stayed on through the conclave, which has been a fascinating historic time to watch.
1:07.7	So I just wanted to invite him here to kind of catch up on where things have gone
1:12.3	since this historic announcement of Pope Leo, the 14th, who is the first American Pope. So with that,
1:21.6	welcome, Jonathan. Great to have you here. It's even amazing just to hear those words,
1:26.6	the first American pope, right, five, six weeks ago.
1:29.4	It sounds like a movie.
1:30.6	I think there was a movie called the American Pope, and we all said, ha, ha, ha, that will never happen.
1:35.7	So give me our reflections on, first of all, let's go back, you know.
1:39.7	What do you think happened in the conclave to produce such a surprise?
1:46.6	It's a surprise, and at the the same time there's always a surprise in these conclaves. And I think it in part of it, in part it's because it's so
1:52.8	simple. There's only, in this case, there were 133 cardinals that had a head of vote. That's not
1:59.3	very many. And you have to get to two-thirds. And so just the way
2:03.2	the numbers work out, the mathematics of it all, you have to make coalitions. And you have to say,
