He gets the rap for the failings of Barcelona. Was that fair?

It's not fair to hold him up as the reason things have been going wrong.

And I think anyone who's expecting things to immediately become good now that he's left is in for a slightly rude awakening there.

But I think the situation had become pretty untenable.

Yes, bearing in mind, this is not a coach who had a very strong mandate going into the season.

If one of us had basically said, you can continue if we can't find anyone else.

And then they couldn't find anyone else. And so they continued.

That is not a great situation to go into a new season with.

Now, I've on this part in the past have stuck up a bit for a comment,

because I think there were a lot of people who were a bit slow on the uptake in terms of realizing just how bad the situation is.

Just how difficult it has been to make you one of them.

Well, no, he's been very clear on how bad it is. And I'm getting to that.

I think he last season he did in some ways a reasonable job.

And I think there are issues there that I'm not sure the coach can solve.
