Summary

Dotun and Andy are joined by Miguel Delaney to try and answer one of the biggest questions in European football on today's OTC: where will Kylian Mbappé end up next season?

We also search for reasons behind a refreshingly enjoyable Europa League season and look ahead to the final weekend of Serie A as the scudetto heads to the San Siro - but which half?

Welcome once again to another episode of On the Continent, your one-stop shop for everything to do with European football. I'm Dotton Eddie Brassel.

0:13.0

I'm Eddie Brassel, and I'm Miguel Delaney.

0:15.0

In this all-to-play for edition of OTC, the Champions of Europa, but in the bottom half of the Bundesliga, the Eintrak Frankfurt season of two leagues.

0:25.0

Also, he's made his mind up time, but when will the teasing stop and the most sought-after player on the Continent reveal where he'll end up next season?

0:34.0

And which Milan will take the Serie A title this weekend, AC or Inter?

0:40.0

You start with Eintrak, gosh, what a final it was against Glasgow Rangers last night, as we speak now.

0:57.0

Only their second major title, and that took 42 years in the making, second major European title, 42 years in the making.

1:06.0

But then you look at their status in the Bundesliga, and you wonder, what were they doing in the final of the Europa League?

1:14.0

Did you know that I felt for a lot of the game until I got nervous, seemed to flick them a little bit, maybe the occasion, which maybe you might explain a few things, especially when you consider this as a team that really eviscerated Barcelona.

1:27.0

Yeah, I can't know. Before I suppose the game developed into one that you might expect between a mid-table German club and one of the major Scottish clubs given where a Scottish football has been for the last 20 years.

1:42.0

Yeah, I thought Eintrak were the better side in the 90 minutes, Rangers were the better side in extra time, I thought.

1:51.0

Who was the better side in the penalty shootout need I ask?

1:54.0

I think we know, but only by a whisker.

1:57.0

I think Kevin Trapp was the best player in extra time, and the penalty shootout, which made the difference, and he's been the best player for most of the season.

2:07.0

But you're right, Miguel, I think so much was riding on this. It meant an enormous amount to both teams, because a lot of people have been a bit disparaging about the quality of the final.

2:19.0

But I think when you think a, the heat, which is just impossible to deal with, particularly for two Northern European teams, and B, the fact that it felt like a one-off chance for both of them.

2:32.0

Now look, we know Eintrak Frankfurt has recently been close enough, three years ago, they're in the Europa League semi-final, they lost to Chelsea on pens, probably should have won.

2:43.0

But they had an incredible front three, then, of Al-Arabic and Yovic.

2:49.0

Since then, they've lost all of those. They've changed around things a couple of times.

2:55.0

Last summer, they lost coach, supporting director, top scorer, André Silva, who went to Laipsey.

3:02.0

So to even be in this position is remarkable.

3:07.0

But you know, they're in a very rebuildy spot. So for them to even be there, I think you're right, Miguel. I think the enormity of what was happening definitely affected both of their abilities to manage the occasion.
