Summary
Greetings, one and all – welcome to a brand new episode of On The Continent! Andy Brassell’s in the chair alongside Nicky Bandini and Miguel Delaney to discuss another week of continental capers.
We begin with a truly underwhelming El Clásico, as Barcelona’s struggles continue. We discuss the difficulties Quique Setién is facing as the first ideology-driven manager the Catalans have had in a long while, and wonder whether the era of Lionel Messi is nearing an end. We then swing over to Italy where, as well as trying to make sense of the widespread disruption thanks to the Coronavirus, we discuss Lazio lead at the top of Serie A, their first for ten years!
There’s also time for a discussion about German ultra culture, after protests against Dietmar Hopp continue, and Daniel Sturridge’s worldwide ban from football.
