This is hell, and this time we find the law undermining students' constitutionally

protected right to privacy through enhanced surveillance and security systems that are being

installed by the increasingly profitable school security sector. The more

than a billion dollar a year industry is now not only filling schools with all sorts of

technological fixes to the problems of mass shooting but they're also

setting their sites on students after school activities online as well,

meaning today's students rarely experience any time

when they're actually free from school.

But look, it all makes sense if it keeps students safe from the

epidemic of school shootings that is plaguing the United States. However, what

if I were to tell you, as our guest will today,

that mass shootings in the United States are not increasing?

That, in fact, school shootings in the states

have been decreasing and for quite some time

back in April of 1999. Shortly before the

shooting at Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado, the Centers for

Disease Control released a report stating that mass shootings in schools have been declining since the early 1990s.

Nobody could believe it. So much so that all the major network and cable news outlets were actually reporting the school shootings

were increasing when they were not. They were not increasing and for months none of the outlets

corrected themselves.

Today we still have this impression, this feeling that school shootings are again increasing as they always are.
