Christ experienced both suffering and exaltation.

There will be through the course of the Christian life seasons of glory and seasons of gore.

The rich truth that we're reminded of is that Christ has been

through both. And that he goes with us

through both of those seasons.

Well, friend, yesterday was Palm Sunday. The day we celebrate Christ's triumphal entry into Jerusalem. It's the first day of what

we call Holy Week, the last seven days of Jesus' earthly ministry. Let's read a little bit about

that day from Matthew chapter 21. They brought the donkey and the colt and put on them their cloaks,

and he sat on them. Most of the crowd spread their cloaks on the colt and put on them their cloaks, and he sat on them.

Most of the crowds spread their cloaks on the road, and others cut branches from the trees

and spread them on the road. And the crowds that went before him and that followed him were shouting,

Hosanna to the son of David, blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord, Hosanna in the highest. And when he entered

Jerusalem, the whole city was stirred up, saying, who is this? And the crowd said, this is the prophet

Jesus from Nazareth of Galilee. When Jesus rode into Jerusalem on that donkey cult, he knew the cross was near.

And as the crowd spread their cloaks on the road and plucked palm branches to prepare

the way for King Jesus, they were preparing for him to die for them.

This triumphal entry was one of the final moments of glory Jesus would experience before the unspeakable gore of the cross.

But, you know, there was another glorious event that happened before Holy Week called the Transfiguration.
