I'm Joe Devine and I'm joined today by a very interesting guest, Olly Marland.

Ollie, who is now a professional musician in an outfit called Lost and Found,

who have just released a cracking new single, Into You, was also previously a footballer

who played for Port Vale up until the age of about 19.

Ollie made an unusual transition from footballer to musician.

So today we talk about that.

We talk about how hard it is to be a footballer,

what the earning potential is of somebody who's playing in League 2, how he made the decision

to move out of football into something else, because that's obviously a very hard thing to do,

and also the rest of his musical career, including supporting

acts around festivals. Ollie appeared on X Factor as well and has since sort of rediscovered

his musical interest after a period of working on a construction site. So it's been an interesting

career so far and it was great to be able to talk to Ali.

I appreciate him coming on to do this.

Because we also get a bit of an insight into the music industry too.

And how horrible it can be, I think, at times.

My words, obviously.

But yeah, I found that particularly interesting.
