Summary

Gibson Johns interviews former "Southern Charm" star Olivia Flowers all about not being asked back to the show for season 10 — whether she thinks she was given the real reason for it, who's reached out to her, how she's processed it and more — as well as her new YouTube series "Off-Season," for which she's interviewed fellow Bravo stars like Kathryn Dennis and Ally Lewber from "Vanderpump Rules." Welcome back to Gabbyn with Gibb. I'm your host, Gibson Johns. And today on the show, we have an interview with Olivia Flowers, who was on Southern Charm for the last two seasons, but was kind of shockingly not asked back for this new 10th season of the show, which just premiered last night on Bravo. I'll have an episode all about the premiere on Tuesday, but it felt like a good time to do

0:55.3

this interview with Olivia for a variety of reasons. The first being just to check in with her

0:59.7

because we won't be able to do that on the show this season, despite, you know, her putting

1:04.8

so much of her life out there last season. And there were so many threads that we were following

1:09.7

as part of her life. And so to not get to follow those on the show, feels like real, real shame. But it was really nice to catch up with her about some of this stuff. I mean, like last year you think about it, she was doing all of that, she had all that drama with Taylor and Austin. And then she also lost her brother in the middle of filming. And she really opened up and leaned into sharing that both parts of her story. And so she really took center stage on the show last season, and she leaned into it. And she, again, she was open in the way that we want all of our reality starts to be open. And so, again, I just think it's a shame not to be able to follow those things. But, you know, that's why I liked catching up with her on, on the show today. And while she's not going to be on Southern Charm for the time being, she does have a new YouTube series that she's doing called Offseason. And in the show, she's talking with fellow reality stars like Catherine Dennis. That was her first episode. And Casson really had not done an interview since leaving Southern Charm. And so, you know, for the first time, I think we have some insight into, into how that affected her and where her mind is. She also has a brand new episode with Allie Louber from Vanderpump Rules. And as I said, we ran an exclusive trailer from that on our Instagram page, brought a lot new people to the show. And yes, they're just, they're kind of pulling back the curtain on what it's like to be reality stars and their

2:21.3

experiences on their respective shows. I'm really excited about it, really. And it's also part

2:26.5

vlog too. And one episode is a tribute of sorts to her brother. And that ends in her being

2:32.2

proposed to by her now fiance. So it's sort of like

2:35.2

the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow kind of thing. And so Olivia's still thriving. And we spent

2:40.7

a good portion of our chat talking about offseason her conversation with Pathern, which I really

2:45.2

recommend watching. And then we unpacked a lot of the confusion around production's decision

2:49.3

not to bring her back to the show, what her feelings are about it, whether she thinks that she was given the real reason behind the decision, the difficult balance of, you know, talking about it publicly, but not, you know, biting the hand that fed her, you know, who reached out to her from the cast and all of that. We also spoke about J.T. quitting the show and whether she's going to watch the show this

3:07.5

season. And then we ended with a lot of talk about her brother and, you know, feeling a little bit

3:12.3

more comfortable over time in talking about it publicly and how filming the show, because again,
