Mick overrated after that game last night. Stanley Cup finally got underway after what feels like it's been, I don't know,

two to three weeks since we last saw a playoff game in the NHL or the NBA.

We now start a series of weeks where we will have what could be two fantastic

playoff series or what could be two four game series.

That's the beauty of these matchups.

It is a rematch between the Edmonton Oilers and the Florida Panthers.

Before I get into the fact that, yes, I stayed up, obviously, does anyone go to bed

when it's a one goal game in the third period?

That would seem crazy to me.

Because the dream is to get to overtime, because NHL playoff overtime, that's it.

That's the pinnacle of sports fandom.

The way these two teams played in the first three periods, the back and forth,

just the intensity, the skill, the skating, the defense, just every part of it. Three one lead for

Florida after a one-nothing lead for Edmonton, you're thinking, oh God, three one, panthers,

here we go, Edmonton, quiet as a church mouse. Then Edmonton scores, then they score,

and then they're just playing where you know with about four minutes left in the third period,

you're in overtime already. You just have that feeling empty neck goals notwithstanding.
