I'm John Batchel with my colleague Chris Regal, the CEO of Scholar.com, a global technology firm,

who also happens to have a headquarters in Dayton, Ohio.

And though I lived in Ohio three years, Chris is my guide.

It's a beautiful state.

It's got a wonderful river called the same, Ohio River. And it's

been an example of how a northern state can convert to lower taxes and good governance without

heavy regulation. At the same time, it has northern blue state troubles.

That's large cities that haven't been solved. However, we now have news, and this struck me as

strange, and Chris can help me understand it. Peter Thiel, of all people, has endorsed in some

fashion a new bank with all of its rules to take the place of the Silicon Valley Bank that failed.

And it's going to be headquartered in Columbus, Ohio.

So I sent this item to Chris and he has an explanation.

Chris, why Columbus, Ohio?

It's a beautiful state, I understand.

It votes determinately a Republican,

but still Silicon Valley is where the money is. What does Ohio have?

Good evening, John. Ohio has a great position where it has good infrastructure, very reasonable governance, not too far left,

not too far right, a push for business and business growth, so pro-business environment,

and a cost structure that is well below that of New York or California.

So Ohio is starting to enjoy this incredible renaissance of new investment, new infrastructure,

and people like Mr. Teal realizing that Ohio is a tremendous place to do business,

and it gives you a great tactical advantage in building new enterprise and new opportunities in the great state of Ohio.
