You can, through the sheer power of words,

depending on how you managed to parlay your identity,

you can really knock people around.

You can get them fired, you can destroy their reputation,

you can take away the political power,

you can do all kinds of fun stuff

from the privacy of your own home

without even getting up off the couch.

And I think that's obviously bad,

but it's also kind of understandable

why this is where we are.

And this whole process is inseparable from advertising right now.

You saw it with Bud Light, see it with lots of other stuff.

The line between advertising and propaganda

has blurred away quite deliberately in many instances.

And so when you run a media company

and you need to have a business model

and you either do not have a subscription

as only a business model

or you're trying to reorient yourself in that direction,

you will no doubt find yourself dependent
