I mean, if we're going to put somebody on Mount Rushmore, let's get Sid Rosenberg on Mount Rushmore.

The governor wants more state oversight here at City Hall.

Governor Hockel concerned.

It appears that President Trump or someone from the Trump

administration might try to influence or bully Mayor Adams into prioritizing people in Washington,

D.C. over the needs of New Yorkers.

I was deeply troubled by the accusations leveled at Mayor Eric Adams,

not just the initial indictment,

but also the more recent allegation of a quid pro quo

with the Trump administration.

Despite her concerns, Governor Hockel will not remove Mayor Adams from office.

Instead, she plans to push for state oversight of City Hall. I'm undertaking the

implementation of certain guardrails that I believe are a first start in reestablishing trust

for New York City residents and ensure that all decisions out of City Hall are in the clear

interests of the people of this city and not at the behest of the president.

The governor's proposals must be approved by state lawmakers.

One would establish a new deputy inspector general focused on New York City.

Another creates a mechanism for the city's comptroller public advocate and council speaker to launch lawsuits against the federal government without the mayor's approval.
