Barn police have shot dead a man in his 20s after a car chase ended in South London.

The capital was killed by a single shot, far through the wind screen of his car in September

last year.

The PPS have decided after a thorough review of all the evidence to authorize this charge of murder.

Ahemus Officer charged with the murder of Chris Cabot in 2022 has been named in court

for the first time as 40 yearyear-old Martin Blake. In September 2022, Chris Cabo was driving a car in Stretum in South London

when he was shot in a Met police operation.

He died from a single gunshot wound.

The man accused of firing that shot was a firearms officer, code named

NX 121. He was charged and later named as Martin Blake.

The decision to name him was controversial and it led to hundreds of met police officers

giving up their permits to carry weapons. He's now on trial

in court 11 at the old Bailey accused of murder. He denies the charge. I'm Caroline

Cheetham and with my colleague George Oddling will be in court to bring you the details from the trial.

This is the trial of Officer Blake. Today we'll bring you up to date with everything we've heard in this trial over the past couple of days in particular the evidence from other firearms officers who were involved in the incident in South London or in the control room watching and listening as events unfolded.
