I played a practice round this weekend. I have to say the course is beautiful. It's in great shape. It's tree lined, which is my favorite type of course to play.

The greens are very undulated and fast. And it's definitely going to test the players as they buy for spots for the US Open.

Golf is such an individual sport that it all comes down to you. Even your caddy, it doesn't matter how good your caddy is.

It comes down to you and the choices you make and if you hit every shot committed.

The thing that I really loved being here in terms of prepping for the Open is seeing how young the game has gotten.

I'm looking out at the range right now and there are girls in high school, middle school, college all getting ready for the qualifier.

And honestly, I felt like an old lady the other day when I played in a practice round with two golfers. They were 17 and 18 years old.

I'm 34. I'm technically old enough to be their mother, which I've never really felt that before while playing golf.

It's exciting to see because I think that only is a testament to how golf is becoming more mainstream, that more girls are getting exposed to the sport at a younger age.

And it also feels like a more viable way to actually make a living.

So I hope to see a couple young girls from this qualifier qualify for the US Open.

But I also hope that I am one of them that qualifies of them because they're going to need a mentor.

They're going to need someone who's been there done that.

But hopefully I'll have good news to share with you next week as I step off on the course and who knows anything could happen.
