My name is Jeremy Cohen, and it is July

8th. Summer League starts very soon. Not a whole lot of action that has happened in the last

few days, but one thing that did indeed occur is Ariel Huckporti signed a two-way contract.

We talked through with him signing, him not signing.

You know, Jericho Sims, who was also signed to the, who was also drafted 58th overall back in

2021.

He signed a two-way contract and spent his first year as a two-way.

And then the following summer, he signed a big league contract.

So it's not a huge shocker, especially considering that he's the 58th pick, that Huckporti

would be on a two-way, but it gives us a little bit more clarity.

The Knicks, as of right now, have three open roster spots if they want it.

So there was the prevailing thought of if they signed both of the two-way players to a guaranteed

contract, that that might bump them up to 14, make it a little bit more difficult for them

from a flexibility standpoint.

But with Huckporti on a two-way, the Knicks now can use their three open spots, however they choose.

They just have to fill two of them.

The rule is that the Knicks have to roster 14 players on a big league contract by the regular season.

I believe it's really the day before the regular season, but it's the regular season nonetheless.
