British police found the body of missing 10-year-old girl Leslie and Downey.

Leslie was one of the five young victims of serial killers Ian Brady and Myra Hindley.

Today we're covering the grizzly end of the search for 10-year-old Leslie and Downey.

Let's go back to October 16, 1965, to an eerie, isolated place in Northern England known as

Saddleworth Moore.

The Manchester police quickly spread out across Saddleworth, a 30-square-mile

expanse of Hill Country. They were determined to find Leslie and Downey and had strong reason

to believe she was buried somewhere on the Moore. Unfortunately, authorities had only discovered

that information while investigating the murder of another youth named Edward Evans.

The sudden break came under tragic circumstances, but it meant investigators finally had the chance

to solve a mystery that had haunted Manchester and Leslie's family for 10 long months.

Leslie was last seen on December 26, 1964, Boxing Day in England. The Brunette Blue-eyed 10-year-old

lived in an apartment in Manchester with her mother, three brothers, and her mother's fiance.

Shy, polite Leslie was likely in high spirits that day. She'd gotten a toy sewing machine from

Santa the morning before, and there was no cause for post-Christmas blues. She was even going to a
