Hi, friends. I am Annie F. Downs. And for the 10th time this year, I am so excited we

get to do this again. So let's read the Gospels. The Gospels are the first four books of the

New Testament in the Bible, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. These are the stories of Jesus

Christ's life on earth, the friendships, the parables, the sacrifices, the meals, the miracles.

If you are joining us for the first time, welcome, welcome, welcome. We are so glad you're

here. So every month this year, we have read all four books. It's about three chapters

a day, 20-ish minutes a day for 30 days. So make sure you're subscribed and join us as

we read the Gospels together in October. Commit to just this month with us, just 30 days.

And I wonder how your life might be different by November 1st. No matter what you already

know or think about Jesus, where your faith journey has led you so far, could this simple

new rhythm at some point in your day actually shape your life for the better? I cannot wait

to find out. So each month we'd like to switch around the order in which we read the books

and which version we read in. You can go back through the podcast feed or on YouTube

and we already have nine different reading plans already available for you from January

to September. And we're doing a new one today and for this entire month. So for October,

we are reading the new Revised Standard Version Catholic Edition. I have loved over the last

few years finding the ways that my faith as a Protestant overlaps with the faith of my

Catholic friends. While there are differences, one of my favorite things we share are the

four Gospels. In fact, the NRSV Catholic Edition is exactly the same as the NRSV we read in

June here on Let's Read the Gospels, which is really cool. It has been so fun to get

down the phone with some of my Catholic friends and ask about their experience reading the
