Hey guys and welcome to the final mini episode of the free part series of the

I see stories dot-com podcast and this episode I want to briefly touch on the final day

of the conference which was yesterday that's the International

ACD Foundation conference which was happening here in

Washington DC and I didn't go to many talks there were only it was a half day so

there were only free talks anyway and and I was speaking on one of them.

Obviously there were many talks, but in terms of there were only three time slots, and I was in one of those time slots.

And so I only went to one talk, the other talk I needed to prep for the panel I was on so first talk I went to was on

Humor and I think it was called What's funny about O. C.

And it kind of went into a brief history of why

O. C. D has you know been picked up in the media and TV shows

as a bit of a joke and it's been misrepresented misunderstood so that was

interesting but it was more of like a open discussion so that the panelists

weren't on it saying you know it's okay to laugh it's not okay.

What they did is ask many questions and got people to come up and share their

interpretation of when is it okay to joke about OCD?

You know, is it okay to joke about ICD you know is it okay to joke with someone else

it has ICD is it okay to joke about your own ICD is it okay if someone

who doesn't have ICD jokes about ICD you know when when is it okay is it okay if you I see

I know when when is it okay is it okay for your clinician your therapist to you know have a laugh and a joke with you does that help you doesn't it help you and the thing that came out of it was generally the human is more

positive. Obviously some people didn't like it as much and that's perfectly fine.

But a lot of people were saying kind of the humour in the right context and in the right way
