Thank you for your faith, your faithfulness, for your examples, and your desires to be. your dichotomies. For instance, we might believe that observation or reason are the only

valid ways to learn truth. Or we might believe that observation and reason undermine faith to such an extent

that they should have no role in religious life.

This is a false dichotomy because observation and reason works synergistically with faith.

Faith without works will not amplify itself. Faith will only grow by observation and reasoning

First, let's look at how observation alone can be unreliable, especially when we're unaware of the external conditions

Technologies that use computer-generated images and videos are rapidly evolving and can

portray believable material. A new story in May 2023 used an artificial

intelligence generated photo to document an explosion at the Pentagon. This caused the stock markets to dip

until the bogus nature of the photo was made known. And to ingratiate myself with this audience, I show you a photo depicting me

receiving a diploma from the BYU president himself in 1976. I like this image, but it is an artificial
