This is CBSi in the world with Andy McCarthy and that is McCutter, the civil cases for Mr. Trump.

Two of them, one a fantastic amount of money, approaching half a billion dollars. Two, the Carroll

case much comparatively smaller but both involve the question of posting something large a large number in order to appeal the decisions.

Andy I think if I understand correctly it's the half a billion or some fantastic number that seems to be

the struggle how so well under both federal and state law once a judgment is

rendered by a judge or a jury in the in the

E. Jean Carroll case it was the jury in the civil fraud case in New York State. it was the judge because it was a bench trial but once the decision is final then there's a 30 day what's called automatic stay in the plaintiffs being able to execute or enforce the judgment.

And that runs in parallel with the 30 days that the law also gives defendants to appeal if they've lost the case.

So in effect, what ends up happening is you need to post enough money to equal the amount of the

amount of the judgment as a practical matter in order to appeal because if you don't post enough money then what happens is the plaintiff could start enforcing the judgment.

In other words, taking the money.

And if you don't pay the money, then

starting to seize your assets.

And it makes, if that happens, your appeal really

becomes illusory because by the time the appeal gets decided, your assets. your the New York case it's 454 million dollars with interest which is

accumulating at I think a hundred and twelve thousand dollars a day I mean some

astronomical amount.

Trump has to post something in the neighborhood of $500 million in order to get the court to stay Attorney General Letitia James's ability to enforce the judgment while Trump appeals.

And then while he's in this crunch to try to get and pull those assets together to post a bond at the same time

the January 26th verdict in the E. Jean Carroll case 83.3 million dollars. His 30 days is coming due on that as well and as a result

he will have to post about 90 million dollars in connection with that case. So the big question is does he have it?
