Well, this gentleman has been a long-time guest of our dunked-on season outlook series, but

the focus has changed.

No longer is James Edwards, a Detroit Pistons writer.

He is now the Athletics Beatman for the New York Knicks did an awesome job in one of the

most interesting seasons in Nick history a season ago and we're here

to talk about maybe an even more interesting one coming up. James Edwards, the third. How are you doing,

man? I'm doing well, Nate, man. Always appreciate you having me on and always looking forward to

doing this every year. Yeah, well, this is the first team that we've talked about that actually has had

practices. They've had media. They started early because they're doing this Dubai trip with the Sixers.

So we've got a couple of days of camp under our belt. We've got some time with Mike Brown and hearing

from him and how the players are reacting to him.

So what have some of the key storylines been early in camp?

I think a lot of what people anticipated coming in,

Mike Brown talking about wanting to get the Knicks to play fast,

wanting to get guys to sprint to the corners to flatten the defense,

possibilities of using Jalen Brunson more off ball, which I'm sure we'll talk about.

Carl as a potential hub, which he's note which Mike Brown is used similarly with Demontas Sabonis.

Obviously, he wasn't the head coach in Golden State, but Draymond Green at the elbows and on the wings as stuff goes around screens, right?

Like I think we're going to see some stuff like that.

The players obviously had an idea of how Mike plays.

The first two, three days, they're all still getting acclimated.

I don't know how much they've actually put in, but they all understand that they're going to play faster.
