Brooklyn, the Sunset Park Recreation Center. Right now, the center of the conversation that

debate the contest over what is to be done with up to 100,000 migrants, largely from the

Mexican-American border, brought here, dispatched here, bust here, by governors from the south

or by their own means, and gathering in the city, overwhelming these services as I understand

it, not only in Manhattan, where there was a very sad tragic scene of people who had no

resources crowded around the Roosevelt Hotel a week ago.

Now we spread to the five boroughs, and I welcome Harry Siegel, a senior editor at the

city, an online journal to help me understand this article is written by his colleagues Gwen

Hogan and Heidi Chu. Harry, a good evening to you. The Sunset Park Recreation Center competing

rallies for a city council street seat. The city council is going through, and I thought

they just had an election, and they're going through it again. And from the presentation

of this article, a big part of the conversation this year is not about the price of gasoline,

not about safety in the streets, but about the migrants, and the two sides, Republican

and Democrat, look to be taking the same position. Help me, Harry. Good evening to you.

Hey, good evening, John. So, about 100,000 migrants have arrived in New York City over

the last year, while a lot of the press coverage of this initially was about those who the governors

of Texas and Florida were busing up. Most of these migrants have come here on their own

through Catholic charities or otherwise. So this hasn't mostly been the red state people

bringing them in, although that certainly has occurred. And those numbers have been

pretty overwhelmed. John, there aren't really two sides in New York. There's just sort
