New Ons is very hard to accomplish in the public discussion because the public

discussion is much easier, good guy bad guy. Pick this side or pick that side. So

let me play you the entire clip of Oliver Anthony talking about his reaction to

his song being hijacked and I think because I've felt this we've never had

anything go as viral as that but when you do have something go viral you do

notice that people seem to be using your work for their own purpose instead of

yours or instead of the message of whatever that work product is and that can

make you very resentful but that is the environment we live in if a lot of

influencers had not replayed that song I don't think it would have spread so

fast and some big names did a lot of big names did they also benefit from that

absolutely the ability to take things that are in the news that have created

their own moment and share them on your own platform of influence whatever that

is Twitter Instagram Facebook radio television you name it is part of what's

necessary to staying engaged with your audience but I also understand the

great frustration that Oliver Anthony has because people are taking what

they're taking his work product and they're making it about something that he

feels very deeply it's not about and especially when you've written a song that

is a very populous song about the discontent of the working man and you're

seeing people that are using that song and you feel like they don't care about me

it really doesn't matter if anybody cares about you or not but they don't care

about the issues that matter to me that's frustrating if you feel that those
