After months of negotiations, convicted sex trafficker Gieland Maxwell for the first time

appeared behind closed doors before the House Oversight Committee.

But as NPR's Claudia Grisales reports, Maxwell invoked her Fifth Amendment right not to self-incriminate.

Geland Maxwell appeared before the Congressional Committee via video link from her prison facility

and followed her attorney's directive to decline to answer lawmakers' questions.

In a statement following that appearance, her lawyer said she would be willing to answer questions

in exchange for clemency from President Trump.

The lawyer went on to say that Maxwell would be able to share

details about the Clintons and their ties to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein after she

already shared that they are not guilty of any wrongdoing. House Oversight Committee Chairman James

Comer said Maxwell's decision not to answer questions was a disappointment.

However, Comer maintained that the committee's investigation into Epstein continues.

SpaceX is now cutting off illegal users of its Starlink satellites in Ukraine.

NPR's Eleanor Beardsley reports that's hindering Russian forces in the East

who illegally use Starlink to propel their drones deeper into Ukraine.

There is now what's known as a white list where civilian and military users of Starlink

in Ukraine must register their terminals. Anton Sadyakov sells and adapts Starlink terminals.

He told newspaper the Kiev Independent,
