It is Thursday, November 9th, 2003, hibernation.

Going on right now in Arizona are the general manager meetings for Major League Baseball

where teams lay the groundwork for signings and trades.

The meetings were supposed to last through today,

but they've been cut short in a way that I've never seen in my whole career.

10% of the attendees at the GM meetings

got sick with what they thought was food poisoning

and then they realized somebody didn't eat the food that

everybody else ate that person got sick and they decided it was some sort of

neurovirus and they sent everybody home.

Therefore, acknowledging the reality that we spoke about,

that the GM meetings are sort of pass-e in terms of their utility,

I wonder whether the union would agree with getting rid of GM meetings.

Then Matt Chapman would have nowhere to go, though they were in his hometown.

Agents would have an extra week where they could stay at home, stay with their family, stay in their office.

But what would Scott Boris do?

Every single GM meeting and winter meeting you wait for Boris to talk and boy did he deliver

it's very funny when agents there is competition amongst agents and Scott Boris is the

least popular agent because he's the most he poaches all the time and he
