Unless you consider the fact that the Dodgers payroll is currently

about $90 million more than the second highest payroll currently in baseball.

A shocking move that Kyle Tucker got $240 million over four years from the Dodgers.

But wait, there's got to be deferrals.

There must be an Otani situation here that would possibly merit Kyle Tucker getting

$60 million.

Can't be.

Is it more than Otani?

Remember, Otani got $700 million over 20 years from the Dodgers.

It wasn't over 10 years. So the value of the Otani deal was around $440 million, calculated as $44 million a

year for luxury tax purposes. There's no way Kyle Tucker is worth more than Shohei Otani.

And then we got word that the deferrals are not that large.

Only $30 million out of the $240 million given to Tucker is deferred.
