Let's dive into the future of the running back room.

Brian here on the Irish Breakdown podcast brought to by our friends over at Fandu.

We just got done talking about kind of the two era parents, I guess you could say,

and Keadren Young and Annius Williams, two of the older guys in the room.

But when we start talking about is there going to be a top guy,

is there going to be a top two guys or a rotation?

One of the other factors of that is the future of the running back room. And some of the future is currently here in the present. Due to the injuries with Kedron being out and with the knee, not being able to go full contact and team drills, we got to see a lot of Nolan James and a lot of Jonas Walton this year throughout spring training.

And we were impressed by a lot of what we saw from them.

But it's similar to the conversation that we had around like, hey, like the linebackers and

Madden Framo, it's like, yes, it's the future, but some of the future is here right now.

We might get to see it this upcoming season.

And so I think that's what makes this also a very interesting conversation compared to some of the other rooms where defensive backs, we could talk about the future. And we really liked what we saw from Aidan Pouncey. But I don't know what we're going to see from Aden Pouncey in 2026. But I'm confident in saying, I think to varying varying degrees we're going to see Nolan James in

I think Nolan James he's he's an interesting player Trevor because he's a redshirt freshman

that's entering somewhat of a make or break season for himself and it's an unfair situation that a lot of these guys are in and I would say that that's entering somewhat of a make or break season for himself. And it's an unfair situation that

a lot of these guys are in. And I would say that that's somewhat true for Keidron Young as well.

His is a little bit different because, you know, who knows if he's going to be a guy that is

even better in 2027 because he's back from health, you know, from injury or whatever.

But when I look at Nolan James Jr., he's in that kind of that middle child category. We've got the two talented kids in front of him, not more talented, just talented. And then he's got the two stud freshmen behind him that are, you know, coming along. And he needs to be able to push the two guys in front of him because if he's not pushing the two guys in front of him, then he's going to get passed up by the two guys behind him.

And he's also in that middle child category where there is the emphasis on how good the veterans can be, and then the wishful optimism of the moment that the two younger guys become the guy, all while overlooking how

good Nolan James can be.

But look, I think Nolan James can be a very important part of the Nurtium rotation.
