I.B. Nation, Notre Dame fans, ladies and gentlemen, welcome back to another episode of the Irish Breakdown podcast, brought to by our friends over at Fandul. Happy Monday.

Hope everybody had a fun and relaxing weekend. Safe travels back from South Bend, if you guys were at the Blue Gold game, but we have a fun and loaded show coming your way today, folks.

The NFL draft also recapped and ended this weekend. So what we're going to do today is we're going to basically spend the majority of the day talking about different angles of the NFL draft. Part one of today's show. We're diving into the players that got drafted from Notre Dame. There were six taken in this draft. A handful of them were picked up as undrafted free agents, so we're going to share our thoughts on those.

And then in part two today's show, we're going to stick with a Notre Dame NFL draft lens.

But looking ahead to the future, is Notre Dame getting ready to go on a run?

You're about to listen to two gentlemen who believe that they are because when you lose 19 players to the NFL draft over the last three years like Freeman has, and we're talking about how this is probably his most talented roster from top to bottom since he's been the head coach, the ingredients for a really, really strong run. So we're going to talk about that in part two. And then today, folks, we're going to wrap up the show with a Friday, or a Friday, free-frollbag, with a daily mailbag. But this, what we're going to do, and Brian will be able to do a better job of explaining this, but our daily mailbags at the end of shows here over the next couple weeks are going to be more themed to what the topics were in the show. So for example, today we have a show about the NFL draft, Notre Dame's outlook on that this past year and looking ahead to the future.

So I kind of want those questions to be geared more towards that.

So it's going to be a lot of fun here over the next couple weeks, and I'm excited to dive into the show today, man.

Yeah, it's going to be a blast, Treve.

And as you said, we're going to no buy so hold for the next couple weeks, no Friday free for all mailbags. And every day we will have a daily mailbag. So some giving some take. And we want those mailbags to be related to the topic of the day. And we've got a lot of fun topics today, Trev. It's going to be a blast. Obviously, a lot of post-spring analysis. We're going to go kind of position by position, but we wanted to get to the draft. And I think that the second part of today's show is going to really set the stage for some of those team breakdowns and position breakdowns. And then tomorrow, we're going to do our post-spring top 25, which for a second day we forgot about. We put all this topics there was like oh shoot i feel like i'm forgetting something and it was the top 25 so we're going to have a lot of fun with that tomorrow and we're going to do a little bit differently so instead Trevor and i kind of giving each of our own top 25s we're going to kind of combine them so we're going to do it like api style right so if you get the number one style, right? So if you get the number one vote, you get 25 points.

If you get your number two votes, you get 24, so forth and so on. So that's going to be a whole lot of fun, very, very much looking forward to that. So it would be kind of like a wrap up of the spring and a look ahead to the future is kind of the conversation we're having. And then each day we talk position group. we're also going to take a glimpse to the future.

So we're going to talk recruiting, 27 and 28 recruiting at each position as well.

So as opposed to sort of like a purely post-spring analysis, it's almost more of like a state of

the union type of breakdown. And part of that is the post-spring analysis. And it's also about looking ahead to

the offseason and then to the season and then, of course, recruiting. So I'm looking forward to it.

It's going to be a blast. And then obviously, once we get through all these 10 position groups,

we will get back to our regularly scheduled programming. We will have some, when there are days

where there's recruiting news,

we will have segments on that as well. So I can't wait. And then, you know, Trev, NFL draft today.

We'll talk about that again. I'm a big fan of the NFL draft. We've talked about that. I don't

watch the NFL as much as I used to, but I still love the NFL

draft. It is such a blast for a million reasons. And Notre Dame had a six-man draft class
