Summary

Irish Breakdown answers subscriber "We In/We Out" questions from IB's New Champions Lounge. Some of today's questions include: * We In or We Out: Notre Dame will not forget the NIU game for the rest of the season, “showing up” and winning with gusto. Related: Should NIU finish the season ranked (#23 now), the CFP Committee will regard the early-season Irish defeat as a “good loss.” * ND’s offense does NOT need to hurry to demonstrate a good passing game because we can easily win all our games between now and USC without it. In or Out? * In or Out: Riley Leonard’s well-documented issues throwing the football down the field are primarily due to a fixable lack of confidence. * In or Out: ND’s offense will end this year with similar productivity to what LSU had under Mike Denbrock in 2022. * In or Out: ND’s re-shuffled offensive line will end up as good or better than our initial starting OL have been by the end of the year. * In or Out: By game 8, the pass-rush duo of Boubacar Traore and Bryce Young will emerge as a force on a national level. * BONUS WBB: Kate Koval will establish herself as a real inside/outside threat while Maddy Westbeld recovers from her foot surgery. We in or We out? * A true #1 WR *will* emerge for Notre Dame by the end of the season, roughly defined as “numbers equivalent to an All-Conference P4 WR (any team)”. In or Out? * We in or We out: Riley Leonard has a fixed mindset and is unable to get better because he believes that talent is given by God and success has little to do with hard work and learning. Either you got “it” or you don’t. Therefore, he will not improve as he plays more, practices more, and gets more comfortable with his new system, new coaches, and new receivers. Get used to it. * We In/We Out: Riley Leonard will be over 26 touchdown passes by the end of the regular season? * We in/ We out: Jaden Greathouse will become the Alpha Dog WR We expected him to be and lead the team in catches, yards or touchdowns ( take your pick on those 3 or all) by season’s end. * We in/ We out: By the time he’s done at ND, CJ Carr will clearly be one of the best QB’S to play at ND since Joe Montana and be invited to NYC for the Heisman ceremony with a shot to win. * Notre Dame will have three more games like last week, score wise, this season. * Anthonie Knapp will move back inside as an interior lineman with Guerby Lambert waiting in the wings for next season? * We in / We out: Jordan Faison’s speed gives offense a spark on return from injury against Miami OH, catches at least 2 big play passes for 20+ yards. * We In/We Out: Beaux Collins will go over a 80 yards receiving with on long TD this Saturday. Riley will be 5-9 with balls traveling at least 15 yards in the air. * We In/Out: Bryce Young is going to be the most productive big end at ND by the end of the season in terms of impact plays (sacks, tfls, etc). * MORE! Jess, shall we do we do we in, we out.

0:16.7

I'm in on some in and out.

0:18.7

You are in on we in, we out.

0:22.7

We're going to start with a salty question of all things.

0:27.6

Oh, man.

0:28.4

We in, we out.

0:29.8

And it's not a great one question.

0:33.2

Salty says, Notre Dame will not forget the Northern Illinois game for the rest of the season,

0:37.3

showing up and winning with gusto related.

0:41.3

Should NIU finish the season ranked number 23 now, the college football playoff committee

0:46.3

will regard the early season Irish defeat as a quote unquote good loss.

0:52.3

We in or we out on all that.

0:55.4

And on the first part, I think that Notre Dame losing to NIU will be a chip on their

1:00.6

shoulder throughout the entire season.

1:02.7

And again, something that the coaching staff and the players can draw back to, you know,

1:07.6

when kind of realizing, you know, that that was our one opportunity to really

1:13.8

not play our best, right? And if we want to accomplish the goals that we have set out for,

1:19.2

you know, our backs are up against the wall and we have, you know, basically to be perfect the rest

1:24.3

of the way. So I do think it's something that they won't forget,

1:27.6

and it's going to allow them to just to play better and just to be more probably

1:33.5

disciplines throughout the rest of the season as well, just kind of, you know, not allowing

1:37.9

that kind of gameplay to sneak in again. And then should the second part of this question,
