We're talking about the Notre Dame quarterback room here in part two.

And this is kind of kicking off our series of position room previews, fitting that the two guys that used to play quarterback are kicking it off with the quarterback preview.

But it's also for good reason.

This is now CJ Carr's team.

And we're going to talk a lot about expectations and the breakdown of the room.

But, you know, first and foremost, this is just, it's a very different off season.

You know, I'm thinking back to where we were at this time last year.

February kicks off.

We know that Riley Leonard's not coming back.

And then it sets the stage of, okay, well, are they going to take a portal quarterback or not?

Turns out that they're not. They're going with the young guys in the room.

You fast forward 365 days to now, today, February 3rd of 2026.

And Notre Dame has their starting quarterback and their first returning starter since

2020 when Ian Book came back from 19 to 20.

It's a very exciting spot to be in.

It's the first time Marcus Freeman has had that and combined with an offensive

coordinator.

So much different outlook on this season.

That's why I think some of the expectations are so high.

That's why a lot of the

hyper on CJ car is getting so big. But it's definitely a good spot to be in, Brian. And we joked about it on the show yesterday. I think Sean Davis brought up as like, man, what are we going to do in the off season? Now that there's not a competition for QB1 going on, what are we going to talk about for four months?
