So now, Trev, we are going to get into the main topic of today's show, which is a look at the

Notre Dame defense. And, you know, this is a unit that has been, you know, it was kind of

interesting. We went into the season and I said, well, at the very least, this unit should be

about as good as it was last year. You know, you thought they'd be get better in this area.

You thought they'd maybe not be as good in this area.

But just overall, you kind of felt like overall,

it's going to be about a similar unit to what it was last year.

And lo and behold, that's exactly what it was.

It was about what we thought it was going to be coming in the year.

But what makes it

interesting is the journey to get here is not how I thought they would get here because the

whole thing you're thinking about is, well, look, you know, you've got Jordan Patelho,

who, you know, some big things are expected of. And you've got Bubacartreori had a great

offseason. You've got an all-american

cornerback and benjamin morrison you know you've got you know Xavier watts is an all-American

Howard cross is an all-American you know you're just so many different things that you're excited about

and then you come out in the season and it doesn't quite go the way that you think it's going to go.

You know, Howard Cross had some moments, but he wasn't quite the player he was last year,

partly because he really has just been struggling with different little injury things all season.

It's the hamstring.

It's the knee.

It's just different things.
