So we are going to get started here with the first question that was submitted, which was from Sean Stewart. With this being one of the premier secondaries in the country, can they be more dominant than the 24 squad, which was a no-fly zone for most of the season?

So I can almost guarantee no matter how good Leonard Moore and Tate Johnson and Christian

Gray and DJ McKinney and Don Schuller play this year, they will not look like that 24

secondary from a number standpoint. And that is because

Chris Ash's defense will not allow them to limit teams to that degree throwing football. That's not a

complaint or a criticism because his defense is willing to give some a little bit up in the second.

It doesn't mean it can't be a top secondary or a top pass defense.

They can be a better past defense than they were last year, Trab.

There's no doubt about it.

But it'll never look like that 24 unit because the scheme is different.

Just like the 24 team had no chance at being anywhere nearly as good as what we think the 26 team is

going to be in the run defense. So just to understand where I'm coming from. That's not a

criticism of Chris Ash. It's just Al Golden's number one priority was shutting down the

opposition pass game. And he did. And it left the run game a little bit more vulnerable. They

weren't terrible.

I think this past defense, if you are, like, Sean,

if, with the spirit of your question,

if they're as good as they can be this year,

they're going to be a much better past defense in 26 than they were a run defense in 24.

But it won't look like the 24 statistically. What it will look

like, however, is a defense that makes a lot of plays in the second. So they may give up more,

you know, 20, 30 more yards than what they did. They may give up, you know, over six yards

...
