Saw a show where the take was, quote, Indiana winning could be bad for the sport for the sole reason.

It would put unrealistic pressure and expectations on every other team, end quote.

I'm curious to your thoughts.

I think it's a terrible take.

I mean, what programs are going to be getting pressure put on their their coaches that doesn't already exist? I mean, Penn State went to the semifinals last year and fired their

coach the very next year after starting three and three. Isn't that pressure already there? And as a head

coach, don't you kind of want that pressure?

And at the end of the day, if you're spending money to go buy a roster, then you're going to want

results. I don't care what Indiana does. It doesn't matter what Indiana does. I think this is nothing

other than blue blood snobbery from the media. It's the same exact reason why Indiana wasn't a preseason top 10 team, which I believe for both you and I, they were when we did our preseason top 25. Now, we still had them too low, but we both were like, guys, you know how much people team, you know, how much is coming back? It's a good football team. We also both loved the Fernando Mendoza pickup this offseason. I think it's just snobbery. Oh, this is a bad, what precedent does it set? Isn't this kind of why we like the way that it is in college football where NIL has, this is one of the things I looked forward to in NIO, is a team like Indiana can go get a player than in the past they couldn't have gone and got. Now, I've said before, I don't love the portal rules, but the portal rules, if they ever get fixed, will get fixed in a way where most of the guys at Indiana got, they would have got anyway. All the JMU kids could have come with him. Fernando Mendoza, first time transfer. I believe he was also a grad transfer,

if I remember correctly. Wasn't he at Cal for four years? I could be wrong on that. But the point

is, is that I don't have any kind of problem with that. In a matter of fact, I think if anything,

Indiana winning is good for the sport in that programs who never

believed that we were capable of being that kind of program can now go and build themselves

into being that type of program. No, he's actually a true senior, so he was not a fifth year guy.

But you get what I'm saying,

Treve? Like this says, hey, Kentucky, you just made a great hire on the offensive side as your head coach. You've got a shot if you do things right, get this, do that to maybe rise to the

top. It's no different to what Vanderbilt did. These things are good for the sport of football, a college football,
