Today it's another look back on the 25th anniversary at the Beatles Anthology in our season

opener this year.

We looked at the long and winding road, Ho Ho, from 1968 when the project was first mooted, up until 1992, when it suddenly burst into a real-life thing. And today we're going to look at 1992 up until the air date. And there's still another long and winding road to go in that. Maybe it's a long and a short and winding road from 1992 onward, Stephen.

You're really working this metaphor.

Metaphor. Yes. It's taken a long time to get to this point, but we're still some distance from the

finished product by May 92. Yeah. And so what we'll kind of look at today is how, you know,

it might have all seemed very planned, but, you know, there's also a couple of happy accidents that

happen along the way. So if we're trying to look at a point, it's May 1992 when Apple

announce officially that the band are working on a documentary. And it is still called the long

and winding road at this point.

That's the name they use, isn't it?

Yes, I think that's the interesting thing at this point.

That's still the project name.

And that's been around since the early 70.

And I think if you're a Beatles fan at that point, you'll probably have known that the Long

and Winding Road has an existence. So for fans at the time who might have read this,

it would have flagged up to them that, oh my gosh, this is actually happening. And probably

the first concrete thing that they do are the interviews get started pretty much soon afterwards.

Yes. Yes. So I say this is a long period of working out.
