Everybody thinks they know the Beatles, but how much do we really know?

My name's Stephen Corkroft, and we are live on tape from Dublin.

Today we are going to talk about songs that the Beatles wrote about each other.

So in the latter half, the Beatles' recording career, a new kind of song appeared, where

songs that the Beatles wrote about the Beatles themselves.

This eventually turned into songs that the Beatles wrote about other Beatles.

And then once they became solo artists artists this turned into a whole new cottage

industry of back and forth between each of the Fab Four and then later on after the

1980s they kind of take on a more sad and tribute type level of song so we're gonna kind

of talk about these Beatles songs throughout history and what they all mean I think

it all starts off quite innocently enough, doesn't it, Stephen?

They seem to come off the road in 66 and in 67.

There's not really much to look at except the four walls and each other and start picking

on songs about themselves.

I think that's it.

I mean, they've always sort of taken inspiration from things around them that they saw

that they encountered. As you say,

post-turing,

it's a lot more introspective.
