Is there enough evidence to prosecute Donald Trump?

More pointedly, is there enough evidence to open criminal investigations into Donald

Trump's conduct?

Somebody doesn't think so.

Let's talk about that.

So somebody caused a bit of a stir today on social media, a formerly reputable legal

commentator, authored an opinion piece, saying that Donald Trump should not be prosecuted.

And not only should Donald Trump not be prosecuted, but Donald Trump should not be criminally

investigated.

In the only line I will quote from this opinion piece by this formerly respectable legal

commentator, quote,

based on the available evidence, there is no basis to prosecute Trump and little reason

even to open a criminal investigation.

Interestingly friends, a little reason is pretty much synonymous with the FBI standard

to open a criminal investigation.

A little reason, more precisely, here's the standard from the FBI's operating manual

to open a criminal investigation quote, a preliminary investigation may be initiated

on the basis of information or an allegation that an activity constituting a federal crime

or a threat to the national security has or may have occurred is or may be occurring

or will or may occur, you know, like an attempt to commit a crime may occur, like an attempt
