Join me. I'm John Bachelor in David Maxwell, the foundation for the defensive democracies,

to the Korean Peninsula, to a story emerging in these last hours about what appears to be the

purposeful crossing of the line from South Korea to North Korea by a member of the US military,

E2 Travis King, David a veteran of many years in the Korean Peninsula for the US Army.

David, help us understand what we know and what we don't know about Travis King crossing the line.

Good day to you. Good day. Apparently, he was a troubled young soldier who was being sent back to

the United States, likely to be separated from the military for his, his, you know, transgressions

while in South Korea. He apparently assaulted someone, spent 50 days in a South Korean jail,

and then was being returned to the United States, and he did not get on the plane.

Got onto a JSA tour run by the United Service Organization, the USO, went to Penwinjom,

and then according to reports from witnesses who are on the tour, he gave out a laugh and then

ran across the military demarcation line, which, as we all know, is about a six-inch cement

line in the middle of Penwinjom, where we saw Kim Jong-un and President Trump cross

back in 2019. And so this was a direct and he's in North Korean custody.

So far, there are no reports of the communication with him or with the North Korean side.
