Norman Maylor is the Spirit Seeker and sometimes a reckless truth teller.

We are unforgetting in this podcast. We're summoning Norman Maylor in his

hundredth birthday season but could be his revival time to tell us what

happened to his country and ours. Maylor lived and wrote it all 40 books of

eagle-eyed fiction and fact first as a soldier in the Philippines in the 1940s

which became his great best-seller at age 25 the naked and the dead. Then there

was the epic poet of the 60s in America eventually the celebrity and

popular artist of Duke Ellington or Frank Sinatra proportions. Sinatra taught us

love songs. Maylor read the maelstrom of our American dream life to us. The

premise in the conversation here is that Norman Maylor 15 years after his

death is still speaking to his country. Certainly to you John Buffalo Maylor,

youngest of seven sons and daughters co-editor of a maelor distillation for

2023 titled a mysterious country the grace and fragility of American
