I have a very special guest who has recently published a superb true crime, nonfiction book that reads like a thriller. The title of the book is Norco 80, the true story of theacular Bank Robbery in American History.

can you talk a little bit about yourself and how you became interested in this particular crime case?

Sure.

My background in writing is, as you say, I've done some journalism, some book reviews for the Hirst Papers and AP wire and a lot of publications on a lot of subjects.

The Norco Bank robbery, the subject of the book, happened in 1980, in Riverside,

California, just outside of Los Angeles. And it happened when I was about 18 years old,

and I lived about 20 miles away from it. So I was completely captivated by the event when it

happened. And it has always stuck with me through the years. And I used to tell

people about it. And they would usually get two reactions. One is, did that really happen? And the other was,

how come I don't know about this? Well, yes, it really happened. And it's a, it happened on quite a grand scale. And the reason why not everybody knows about this. Well, yes, it really happened, and it happened on quite a grand scale. And the reason

why not everybody knows about it is because it came before the time of the internet and ubiquitous

video and 24-hour news stations and things like that. So news was more provincial. It was a national

story for a day or two.

And then it went back to being a provincial story.
