Now I don't want this video to end up in the YouTube algorithm gulag so I'm going to be careful about how I phrase this but

Let's talk about Hollywood and their depiction of nudity slash intimate scenes. I don't know about you folks but

something that's frustrated me over the years is the sheer amount of nudity

slash love scenes that Hollywood insist on incorporating into films and especially

series HBO I'm looking at you.

I'm not a prude when it comes to the material that I watch I just feel like after a certain point perhaps some things are better left to the imagination not every aspect of a character's relationship or body needs to be, you know, explicitly portrayed on screen.

And as I was pleased to see with this report from Variety, apparently I'm not alone in that.

As it says here, GenZ Z teens want less sex on screen

according to new UCLA study. This article explains from the school

center for scholars and storytellers comes the Teens and screens report

which reports that 51.5% of

adolescents would like to see more content depicting friendships and platonic

relationships. Also per the survey 44.3% of youth felt that romance and media is overused.

Around 39% would like to see more depictions of aromantic and or asexual characters,

and 47.5% reported that sex is not necessary to the majority of TV show and movie plots.

Pretty interesting stuff though and I will say that while the majority of this video we're going to be talking about the nudity slash sex scene aspect of this study.

I also agree that not every show or movie needs a love story. I don't know if I've mentioned this on this channel or if I've mentioned this lately but when I was a freshman in college I was actually in the screenwriting program at USC and I remember in one of my

writing classes I tried to pitch this idea to my professor of this movie focusing

on a group of castaways who were left shipwrecked on an abandoned island.

And I was essentially told by this professor who was a working screenwriter.

He was someone who absolutely had movies produced by Hollywood.

He said that, A, I should only write what I know, and B every story needs a love story because that's
