We have me, Brittany Clinton, Sam, as usual with the news and we're joined by Eram Kinney,

the author and historian whose new book is called How to Be an Anti-Races.

I said down to him to discuss what the concept means and to learn about his perspective on

the past, present, and future of race relations and identity.

Really, the heartbeat of racism itself has always been denial.

The sound of that, denial, the sound of that heartbeat has always been, I am not racist.

No matter when I just said, no matter what policies or policymaking or racist powers,

I support I am not racist.

And so for me, to be anti-racist is actually to admit when we express racist ideas.

It's Thanksgiving Week.

I already had a couple of friends giving this party and it's so beautiful to be around

a chosen family.

The thing that has been on my mind for me and for a lot of people I'm close to is like,

are you thankful for you?

Check in about the ways that you've been conned to yourself, the ways that you've treated

yourself, the ways that you have made decisions about how you treat other people.

I just set back and say that I'm thankful for my ability to reflect on the past and all

my mistakes.

I'm thankful for the way that I have learned to love the people around me and to grow

in that and to not let that suffocate me or the people I love.
