Hi, this is Hope. Hi, this is Katie from Washington, DC, and you're listening to me at the radio.

So I think today is November 4th and I think it was last episode we recorded. I was talking that I

0:21.2

said that was staring across the street at like six different tombstones in the yard, the

0:26.1

neighbor's yard. Skeleton sticking up out of the ground, different limbs, and ghost, and things like that.

0:32.6

And I did later confirm that Halloween decorations are much bigger. I saw some sort of stat

0:37.8

that like Home Depot this year had 825 skews instead of 431 or something like that, like pretty

0:44.8

much doubled the number of Halloween decorations. And I wondered if that just meant a bunch of new

0:49.6

cheap stuff had come out and, you know, insignificant difference. But then I realized like this

0:54.8

year I've seen, it's the first year I've ever seen the giant 25 foot skeletons and witches

0:59.3

and all this stuff. So I don't think it's just cheap stuff. I think it is, you know, a lot of it

1:04.9

is probably the big expensive thing. So I think I think Halloween decoration has turned a corner and

1:09.1

has become a thing this year. I think you're right about that. I think I saw it a little bit less

1:16.5

than you did, as far as like the big skeletons and all that kind of thing. But there definitely,

1:21.7

there seems to be this appetite for decorating in general and kind of sprucing up your house.

1:28.0

Yeah. If you want to call it that. And I don't know, is that, is that, is that people just being

1:34.0

festive and fun? Is it people trying to draw attention to themselves? You know what is it? I mean,

1:37.8

they're trying to get like, like, click and slate. I think it's in escape. People are, the world is

1:42.8

taken in term for the worst. And people are going to buy a bunch of junk that's, I think that's how we

1:48.8

do it. Yeah. Okay. All right. That's my hunch. I don't know. It could possibly, which you said,

1:54.3

the clickbait, the attention sort of thing that people want attention. But honestly,

1:59.3

in my neighborhood, everyone does it. The way to get attention would be to not do any decorating

2:02.8

at all. Especially what we did. Because if you put up, you know, a large amount of decorations,
