This is CBSI in the world. I'm John Bachelor with Gregory Coppley of Defense and Foreign Affairs

who's in Perth, Australia, commenting on the news from Nigeria, the recent election.

0:15.4

This is a headline in these last hours from the East African. Nigeria's APC, that's the

0:22.2

all-party, all-progressive's Congress, urged the country's presidential election petition

0:27.4

court in Aboujah to dismiss the petition filed by the Labor Party and its presidential

0:33.2

candidate Peter Obey against the Declaration of Bolo Tnubu as President-elect in the February

0:39.0

25th election. Gregory, as I understand it, the election is now in the courts. What is

0:45.1

the likely possibility? Because the allegations in this document are extensive.

0:50.8

Aboujah. And that's critical. And it's stark, it's clear, it's indisputable. That's in the

1:48.1

Constitution. You have to win X number of states and at least 25% of the vote from the federal

1:55.7

capital territory. And Atiku did not win that. So therefore, the election has to be declared

2:06.4

undecided and the election then has to go to its second round. We have 30 seconds.

2:11.6

That should agree. Is this likely to happen in the next months or take years? 30 seconds.

2:18.5

In my view, it's unlikely to happen and that we'll be papered over and that will be the cause

2:23.8

for massive unrest in Nigeria for the coming four years. Gregory Coppley,

2:28.7

Defense and Foreign Affairs, updating us on the Nigerian election. More to come in future.
