I'm Neil Reynolds, your host.

I'll be joined in a couple of minutes by my regular podcast partner, Jeff Reimble.

But I want to start with a bit of news from London this week as the NFL has

launched. The NFL Academy begins operations in September 2019. It's going to offer student

athletes age 16 to 18 the opportunity to combine education with life skills and intensive

American football training, offering routes into employment, to UK education, further education,

and to US further education, and possibly to play NCAA football.

There's some huge names involved in this behind the scenes and supporting,

including O'Dell Beckham Jr., Patrick Mahomes, the current

NFL most valuable player, Juju Smith, Schuster, Jerry Rice, F.A. Abada, O'SHU. Munurran, Jason Bell,

as well, are involved, as is our British Super Bowl champion running back Jay Ajai.

So I spoke to Jay, who is currently a free agent about the launch of the academy,

his rehab from his knee injury and his future in the NFL.

Jay, let's start with the announcement this week of the NFL Academy, of which you will be one of the ambassadors.

How you feel to be involved with that?

Yeah, it's very exciting to know that the UK is beginning to adopt the academy system for American football just before the resources that they can put into it, as well as the players and people that are passionate about it out here.

It's exciting to join those forces and now hopefully create a system

where we can start bringing out football players to the States.
