I cannot recall in the several years that we've had these conversations,

remembering or focusing on or, and particularly feeling threatened by Uruguay.

What is Uruguay to its surrounding area, Argentina, Brazil?

Is it a haven of philosophy?

So there's a few things with Uruguay, and you're right.

It hasn't really been the focal point for many people that look at Latin America.

And maybe that's not necessarily a bad thing as well,

because a lot of Latin America tends to also be overrun by transnational organized crime.

Uruguay is not that it doesn't have criminality, but it's nowhere near the levels that its neighbors do, even Paraguay, Argentina, and Brazil. So Uruguay is most known for being kind of like a

Switzerland of the south, right?

It's a financial hub.

There's a lot of banks that have big operations over there.
