Venezuela.

The election is scheduled for July 28th, the presidential election.

Nicholas Maduro is the strong man in charge of the apparatus of the government. He is a major candidate. He's also

extremely effective in undermining the opposition. The opposition is led by

Maria Karina Machado, who won the primary vote she's overwhelmingly popular throughout the nation.

However, the Supreme Court of Venezuela ruled that she's ineligible for whatever reasons.

And therefore her party chose a substitute.

His name is Unmondo Gonzalez, and he is speaking now of his opportunity to be the president of his

country. At that point I need help so Evan Ellis is here of the US Army War College Strategic Studies Institute

because he's watched Venezuela many many years. This is a rich and

extremely well- educated country.

It is also in the hands of our adversaries, not just Caracas and its bad actors,

but also, presumably, linked to Tehran, linked to Moscow, linked to Beijing.

At this point, I can't say that it's linked to the fourth member of the Alliance that would be

Pyongyang but anything's possible.
