Ernesto I come to you because as foreign minister you're going to help me understand

Uruguay. The news here is that

Interior Minister of Uruguay and two other members of the government have resigned

on a case that is connected in some fashion to passports issued to internationally

wanted drug trafficking suspect.

In your time in the foreign ministry in Brazil's relations with Uruguay,

is Uruguay considered a secure place or a troubled place? Is it

narco-terrorism as well or Nesta? Well John, Uruguay used to be considered and

because it was a very secure place but but for a couple of decades actually now,

they have been moving towards the column of the insecure and troubled countries,

fortunately.

This was already underway when I was foreign minister.

When President Lacayepo was elected,

he came with an agenda of establishing law and order and establishing part of the least of the Uruguayan stability in terms of not only economic terms but also

security but it's very hard because for many years of Uruguay had this combination of left-wing governments since the

beginning of the 2000s up to Lacaiopoe in 2019 so and as a coincidence or not I mean always happens in left-wing

governments in Latin America is to open the doors or organized crime.

So I know a lot of been dozens of times to Montevideo and to Wodeo

used to be one of the safest cities in the hemisphere probably now you can't walk

securely at night and Montevideo gangs everywhere especially women can to be
